http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The Housing Starts Index gauges the change in the number of new houses built in the country. Housing Starts is one of the earliest indicators of the housing market, only trailing Building Permits in timeliness. Because high outlays are needed to start construction projects, an increase in Housing Starts implies an increase in investment and business optimism. Finally, the Housing Starts figure gives insight into consumer activity, since new home purchases typically require a large investment for consumers. Given such connections to consumer and corporate sentiment, real estate generally leads economic developments. A sharp drop in new home construction is a warning signal of economic slowdown. Conversely, a rebound in the Housing Starts paves the way for economic recovery. The report headline is expressed in volume of houses built and also as a monthly and annual percentage change in new home starts.

Industrial Production
January y/y

-1.40%
Low
http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The Industrial Production Index measures the total value of output produced by factories, mines, and utilities. The industrial sector combines the manufacturing and energy sector. A rising trend has a positive effect on the nation's currency because high levels of production are a sign of a strong economy. Industrial Production reacts quickly to the ups and downs of the business cycle and can be a leading indicator of manufacturing employment, average earnings, and personal income. The Industrial Production figure can be adjusted for the number of working days in the given time period and/or seasonally to account for weather related changes in production.

http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The Claimant Count Unemployment Change measures the change in the number of people claiming unemployment related benefits during the previous month. The indicator measures the number of people who claim unemployment benefits, but are actively seeking work. Released with the Claimant Count report, Jobless Claims Change serves as a barometer for the health of the UK labor market. It is similar to the Claimant Count except the headline figure is as an actual number, whereas the Claimant Count is a percentage. Higher job growth accompanies economic expansion and could spark inflationary pressures.

DESCRIPTION
The Claimant Count is the UK's most timely measure of unemployment. The report measures the number of people who claim unemployment benefits, but actively seeking work. The Claimant Count serves as a barometer for the health of the UK labor market. Higher job growth accompanies economic expansion and could spark inflationary pressures. The headline number is a percentage change in the figure.

http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
Average Monthly Earnings Index measures the earnings growth. The data excludes bonuses, which might distort overall earnings growth. A strong Average Earnings Increase figure suggests a wealthier consumer population, which leads to increased demand and consumption. Because economic growth is partly fueled by consumer spending, a high Average Earnings Increase may also raise concerns about inflation. The headline figure is the annualized percent change in earnings for the reporting quarter.

DESCRIPTION
The Average Monthly Earnings Index measures the average monthly wage, including bonuses, paid to employees. The indicator reading represents the change in the current quarter when compared to the same quarter in the previous year.

DESCRIPTION
The Constructio Output Index is a measure of construction output and activity in the Euro Zone. Increased construction suggests a growing economy as expensive construction outlays reflect consumer and business optimism. The index is commonly used as a business cycle indicator, as the housing market is closely tied to changes in economic growth. There are two headline figures. The current month's figure adjusted for economic fluctuations that occur throughout the year. And the annualized figured including the full year's data.

Current Account (bln EUR)

http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The Current Account measures the quarterly difference in value between imported and exported goods, services, income flows, and unilateral transfers. A rising trend has a positive effect on the nation's currency. The Current Account is a comprehensive accounting of the nation's trade with other countries. It includes the previously reported Trade Balance (which covers trade of goods and services), so traders focus on the income flows and unilateral transfer portions of the report. The Current Account is one of the three components that make up a country's Balance of Payments (Financial Account, Capital Account and Current Account), the detailed accounting of all international interactions. Where the other side of the Balance of Payments, Capital and Financial Accounts deal mainly with financial assets and investments, the Current Account gives a detailed breakdown of how the country intermingles with rest of the global economy on a non-investment basis - tracking good and services.

MBA Mortgage Applications Index

0.50%
Low
http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The MBA Mortgage Applications Index gauges the demand for mortgage application in the USA. Tracking new home mortgages and refinances, MBA Mortgage Applications Survey serves at a current indicator for the US housing market. Growth in mortgages suggests a healthy housing market. Due to the multiplier effect housing has on the rest of the economy, rising activity suggests increased household income and economic expansion. The headline figure is the weekly percentage change in the MBA Mortgage Applications figure. Among the various indices measured in the survey, the purchase index and refinancing index most accurately reflect where the housing market is headed. The purchasing index measures the change in existing home sales in all mortgage applications, while the refinance index measures the mortgage refinancing activity in all mortgage applications.

http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The Wholesale Sales Index measures the value of sales made by domestic wholesalers. Wholesalers sell to industries and retailers in quantities far larger than most consumers are willing to purchase. Given that growth in Wholesale Trade usually precedes increases in retail trade and consumption, changes in Wholesale Sales can be used as an early indicator for the overall direction of the retail sector, consumption, and the economy. The headline figure reports the monthly percentage change for Wholesale Sales, seasonally adjusted to account for variations in demand due to seasonal cycles. These sectors are farm products, food, beverages, and tobacco products, personal and household goods, automotive products, building materials, machinery and electronic equipment, and other products.

http://www.deltastock.com
DESCRIPTION
The Producer Price Index measures changes in the selling price producers charge for goods and services, and tracks how prices feed through the production process. Because producers tend to pass on higher costs to consumers as higher retail prices, the PPI is an early indicator of inflation. A higher PPI, especially when combined with high figures for other measures of inflation, will make the European Central Bank more inclined to raise interest rates. A low or falling PPI is indicative of declining prices, and may suggest an economic slowdown.

DESCRIPTION
The Producer Price Index measures changes in the selling prices producers charge for goods and services, and well as tracks how prices feed through the production process. Because producers tend to pass on higher costs to consumers as higher retail prices, the PPI is valuable as an early indicator of inflation. The report also gives insight into how higher prices from raw materials flow toward the final product. The PPI is also reported without the volatile food and energy components. In addition to being seasonally volatile, the two comprise a significant portion of US goods. As a result, any sudden disruption in oil or food supplies will significantly distort the Producer Price Index inflation assessment. By excluding such entities, Core PPI is able to provide a truer, more consistent picture of US inflation trends.
